Residents are seeking for Asantehene intervention over land dispute:Aggrieved Yabi Farmers:

Score of aggrieved farmers at Atwima Yabi in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti region have appealed to Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, to intervene in land dispute in the area.

The aggrieved residents said they were being terrorized by land guards and security persons over the land and they could no longer go to their farms.

Addressing a press conference today, they said they have been gripped by fear due to the terrorism by the land guards allegedly being used by the Chief of Yabi,Nana Akontomire Kwame FRIMPONG Ababio, due to the disputed land.

The land dispute is said to be between Yabi Chief and Toase Chief who are claiming ownership of the land situated at Twedie Akoagyaa.

The aggrieved residents said the land was ceded to them by the Toase Chief to cultivate, but the Atwima Yabi Chief wants to take it from them.

The affected residents, therefore, appealed to Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, to urgently intervene and resolve the dispute to avert the canker because they are living in fear due to the land dispute.
